The correct use: parquet varnish
You can find out how to process parquet varnish, what you have to pay attention to and what you need on this page.
You need:
- Parquet varnish
- Paint roller, brush or cup gun
- fine sandpaper
- possibly. Painter's tape to mask the surface not to be coated
- If necessary, a dilution (this can also be used afterwards to clean the device.)
Preparation
- The processing and especially the drying of parquet varnish should not take place below 10°C. Make sure that the paint materials, the substrate and the ambient temperature are at least 10°C during processing and the subsequent drying and curing time.
- The surface must be sanded before use and must be clean, dry, free of grease, silicone and wax. Therefore, remove any loose old paint or rust. Avoid soapy cleaners or scouring fluids as they are made from fatty acids and are therefore unsuitable for dissolving grease. Remove all sources of dust from the surface to which the paint is being applied.
- Use painter's tape to mask the areas that should not be coated to achieve a clean end result.
- Stir the paint thoroughly before use.
- A primer is not necessary as the parquet varnish can be used as a primer.
- If desired, you can dilute the parquet varnish with approx. 5-10% thinner.
Processing
- Spray, roll or brush the paint. We recommend 1-2 coats for an optimal result.
- The drying time is usually around 3 hours. The product can be painted over after about 12 hours.
