The correct use: insulating paint
On this page you will learn how to use our insulating paint correctly.
You need:
- Insulating paint
- Painter's tape and masking paper
- Paint roller, Brush or airless spray gun
- a cleaning rag
Preparation
- Note that the temperature of the air, material and paint should be at least 10°C, while ideally temperatures are between 15°C and 25°C. Humidity should not exceed 65%.
- To ensure optimal adhesion of the insulating paint, thoroughly clean the surface of dirt, dust and wax residue.
- Carefully cover any areas not to be painted with painter's tape and masking paper to avoid unwanted paint marks. Use painter's tape to create sharp edges.
- Stir the insulating paint well before use to ensure that all ingredients are thoroughly mixed together.
Processing
- Apply the insulating paint evenly to the cleaned and prepared surface using a paint roller or brush. Make sure you don't miss any areas and apply an even coat.
- Allow the first coat to dry completely. Then apply a second coat to cover nicotine and dark spots more effectively. The color is fully permanent after about 7 days. Before applying the second coat, you should wait at least 8 hours. The paint is dust dry and touch-proof after about 4-5 hours.
- Please note that layer thicknesses that are too high and overcoating too early can have a significant impact on drying and, in cases of doubt, can even prevent drying completely.
