The modern 2-component car paint from Grünwalder is a high-coverage and impact-resistant paint with the right hardener.
It is also very easy to paint and varnish with a brush, roller or spray gun.
Supplied in a SET (hardener & base coat) - mixing ratio 5 : 1 (component A : component B)

You only need two thin coats of the ready-to-use car paint. The surface should be roughened beforehand. The application of 2K or 2-component paint is explained very simply and quickly. The name alone says that the finished paint consists of 2 different components. It is a so-called master paint (varnish, paint, primer) and the matching hardener. There are a few things to consider for problem-free processing of a 2-component paint. The description of the paint always contains the most important data about the paint. These are the following points: These points in detail: In the description of the paint (usually even on the paint can), the exact name of the hardener that goes with the paint is always given. Please never use any other hardener. The two components, i.e. paint and hardener, are mixed together in a specific ratio directly before processing. This ratio is also specified in the description of the paint or on the paint can. Here as an example: mixing ratio 5:1 (by weight) that means that you weigh 5 parts paint and 1 part hardener and mix them together. Depending on how much paint you need for one step, it is best to take a kitchen scale, place an empty can on it and then first fill in e.g. 500 grams of paint and then add 100 grams of hardener. That would then be the stated mixing ratio of 5:1 by weight. Stir this mixture well for at least 1 minute. Viscosity is a measure of the viscosity. The higher the viscosity, the thicker (less flowable) the liquid is, the lower the viscosity, the thinner (more flowable) it is. Depending on the type of paint and processing (painting, spraying, rolling, pouring, dipping) it may be necessary to change the viscosity, i.e. to add a little thinner. As a rule, the addition of thinner is between 1% and 20%. Just like with the hardener, it is important to use the right thinner. This is also specified in the description of the paint and usually on the paint can. The pot life is the duration of the processability of reactive materials, e.g. paints. It is therefore the time between mixing a multi-component substance and the end of its processability, so to speak the period of time in which the substance can still be "taken out of the pot" and processed. The end of the pot life is usually indicated by a significant increase in viscosity, which prevents further processing. Some materials have a processing time in addition to the pot life. Optimum processing is only possible during this time. After that, the workability and the painting result deteriorate, even if the paint is still liquid and no change can be seen. So please only mix as much paint as you can use in one go. Lacquers and paints are always developed for specific applications. That is why there are differences in the way of processing. For example, spray paint can usually not be applied with a brush, or only very poorly, because it dries far too quickly. With a paint that is suitable for painting, the drying time is much longer, which is why, for example, dust can fall onto the fresh surface longer during the drying time. It is therefore important to pay attention to the type of processing specified for a paint, varnish or primer. The processing and especially the drying of 2-component paints should not take place below 18°C. This information refers to the paint material, substrate and room temperature during processing and the subsequent drying and curing time of 7 days. Temperatures that are too low lead to drying and hardening problems, as the necessary chemical reaction cannot take place. A brief cooler temperature during curing can also lead to problems. This information is of an advisory nature, it is based on the best of our knowledge and careful investigations according to the current state of the art. No legal liability can be derived from this information. Therefore, please always refer to the technical data sheets and contact us if you have any questions about processing. (Status 02/2020)

FAQ
Do I need a primer?
Our paints are designed in such a way that you basically do not need a primer. However, we recommend making an extra coat and diluting it with our thinner. However, if the substrate is difficult and you want to be on the safe side, we recommend our 2K primer, which is perfectly suited for all substrates. Because a primer ensures a better hold.
Can I also spray paint?
Our paints are ideal for use with spray guns. For best results, we recommend adding 10% thinner to the paint. And the best thing is that you can also use the same thinner to clean the subfloor. This will save you time and effort!
What does an ideal substrate preparation look like?
Thorough surface preparation is essential for optimal painting. The first step is to remove dust and dirt from the surface. It is best to use a broom or water and avoid soap-based cleaners, as these can cause the paintwork to burst later. Instead, we recommend cleaning the surface with our thinner for the best possible result.
