The correct use: wood preservative paint

Sascha has built his own home for himself and his family. This also included a garden house, which he wanted to paint himself. For this he used the Halvar wood preservative paint.

You can find out exactly how this works, what you have to pay attention to and what you need here:

You need:
- wood preservative paint
- possibly masking tape for the area not to be coated mask off
- paint roller, brush or cup gun (1.6mm nozzle)
- if necessary, a thinner (this can also be used to clean the device afterwards).

Preparations and processing:

1. The processing and especially the drying of wood protection paints should not take place below 10°C. This information relates to the paint material, substrate and room temperature during processing and the subsequent drying and curing time.
2. Dust sources should be removed. It is advisable to thoroughly degrease the wood with the thinner and a cloth.
3. Use painter's tape to mask off the areas that are not to be coated. Stir the paint well before use.
4. The wood moisture should not be more than 15% and the maximum humidity for processing and drying should be 65%.
5. If desired, dilute the wood preservative paint with approx. 5 - 10% thinner.
6. Spray, roll or brush paint. (cup gun 1.6mm). 1 to 2 coats are recommended.
7. The drying takes place after 3 - 4 hours. The product can then be painted over without any problems.
